Pre-Treatment
Requirements
On the 31st October 2007, the Pre-treatment requirements of the Landfill
Regulations came into force which meant that no waste can go straight to
landfill unless it can be demonstrated to have undergone a treatment process.
Cox Waste Management customers have the comfort that all our skips are collected
and are then taken to one of our two Recycling Centres and the contents are put
through screens and over picking lines in order to extract the recyclable
material.
Waste Statement
Environmental protection lies at the heart of the waste management business and
is the reason it exists. Cox Waste Management has two primary environmental
aims. The first is to maximise efficient use of resources through re-use,
recycling and recovery. The second is to safely and efficiently dispose of the
waste that can not be recycled produced by householders and businesses in our
society in a manner that protects the environment and human health.
Cox Waste Management currently recycles 84% of the waste that we collect.
